I was recently involved in an accident on my motorcycle with a Hertz rental car. I purchased the bike 9 days before the accident and was planning on adding the motorcycle to my car insurance policy. Once you've gotten into an accident, depending on the company, they try to figure out a way not to pay for it. If your car is totally destroyed, you're stuck with the blue book value and the remainder of your car note in some cases (if your insurance is really bad). While all of this is going on, the car is depreciating at an almost exponential rate and the top it all off, it is a requirement by our government to pay for it. Now I do undestand its place but there needs to be some type of adjustment in the way that this system works. I mean, while they're collecting money on your insurance, they are reinvesting it and making money off of your money that you will never get back and ultimately never use....I'm annoyed. i am 22 been driving for 2 years looking to buy a 1.0L corsa ls but struggling to to find cheap insurance. i tried all the comparison sites ie gocompare confused beatthemarket but still cant get below 1k yet my first car i had when i first passed my test was also a corsa but a 1.2l engine and only cost 600 to insure so need a good company as i cant work out why my insurance is going up rather then down even though i have no driving convictions or never had to claim. i never had a parking ticket lol.
